Mainline Track Replacement

The project consisted of installing approximately 16,000 feet of new MTA train track footings and foundation pads running along the 63rd St. 7 train line and Jamaica & Myrtle Avenue lines – BMT as part of NYCT Mainline Track Replacement.

Hirani provided an all-inclusive extensive concrete testing program for over 4000 cy of concrete, accommodating high early strength compressive testing, weekend, overnight, and long-hour placement with a highly unpredictable placement schedule.

The inspection and testing program included temperature, slump, air, unit weight, testing on every truck, a full range of concrete testing at both street and track levels, including an extended number of casted concrete specimens, high early strength testing, and accommodating challenging logistics in picking up track-level samples. Hirani was able to provide and coordinate up to 5 ACI, OSHA, and MTA track-certified/trained inspectors to accommodate client’s testing requirements and project schedules. Additionally, Hirani provided concrete reinforcement inspections, adhesive anchor installation, and pull test inspections.
