This project involved the installation of new underground gas lines and the restoration of excavations at the boiler room. It included replacing outdated oil boilers with natural gas systems and installing new hot water heaters in ten properties. Hirani provided civil engineering support for the mechanical and structural design.
Scope of Work:
Boiler & Gas System Replacement: Existing oil boilers were replaced with natural gas boilers, requiring excavation to access basement mechanical rooms. New gas services were brought to the site from multiple directions, including beneath a retaining wall along West End Avenue.
Site Restoration: Trenching work necessitated restoring roadways, sidewalks, lawns, parking lots, and fencing. Construction plans included the gas service path, erosion control, and installation details.
Security Enclosures: Hirani provided designs for chain-link fencing and slab construction around gas meters and the basement ventilation flue.
Hirani’s Role:
Hirani prepared construction estimates, specifications, and provided Bid Phase and Construction Administration services, including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, and project closeout.
Key Deliverables:
Gas line installation and restoration plans
Erosion control and trenching details
Security enclosures and fencing designs
Hirani ensured the smooth installation of the new gas system while maintaining site integrity and safety standards.
