As part of the URS (AECOM) team, Hirani provided site supervision and coordination for the design and construction of a new, 79,270 sf free standing academic building on the southwest side of the existing campus center complex.
This new building replaces existing space in Buildings A, B, C and D in the Academic Village Complex. The demolition project component provided for protection and enclosure of utility connections currently in Building A that serve nine dormitory buildings at the perimeter of the Academic Village.
The new building houses three new schools: Education, Arts and Sciences and Business. The design, by R.M. Kliment & Frances Halsband, provides for 150,000 sf to house 42 classrooms, a 150 seat lecture hall, 5 computer labs, a café and lounge.
