Hirani was selected to provide Periodic Inspection services for the exterior walls and appurtenances of a historic 570-foot-high, 38-story building located at the corner of East 59th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Originally the world’s tallest apartment hotel when it opened, this iconic building features one apartment per floor above the 24th and is part of the Upper East Side Historic District, designated by the New York City Landmark Commission in 1981.
Key Services Provided:
Historical Research and Visual Nondestructive Investigation: Hirani conducted historical research and performed a nondestructive investigation of the building to understand its structural and architectural significance.
Exterior Wall & Appurtenances Inspection: A close-up, detailed examination of the building’s exterior walls and appurtenances was carried out, with findings documented in a FISP (Local Law 11) cycle 9A report, which was filed with the NYCDOB.
On-Site Construction Review: Hirani performed on-site construction reviews using suspended and pipe scaffolding to ensure conformance with the construction documents and quality standards.
Special Inspections: Hirani conducted special inspections to verify compliance with the NYC Building Code, ensuring all work met the required safety and regulatory standards.
