A topographic survey was used to create a basemap of the road right-of-way which identified roadway profile, utility mark outs, lighting, and landscaping. The road was reconstructed and regraded to improve drainage flow along the gutter lines. All drainage and roadway design solutions were completed in accordance with the Town’s “Standards for Subdivision Roads and other Public Improvements.” Concrete flatwork such as curb ramps and driveways were replaced to meet the adjusted grades in accordance with ADA guidelines and NYSDOT Standard Sheet 608-01.
Hirani provided comprehensive engineering services for 1,700 linear feet of road reconstruction in Bethpage. The roadway experienced subgrade settlement resulting in damage to the travel way, concrete aprons, curbing, and pavement.
Hirani provided construction administration services for the project which included shop drawing review, responding to RFIs, and bi-weekly project meetings. Hirani had a full-time construction inspector on site to oversee concrete placement, asphalt paving, subbase compaction, and erosion control. The inspector was responsible for reviewing all work in the field, providing daily reports, and approving invoices.
